OpenPetra features in International Update of OM

In his current issue of the International Update, Peter Maiden, the International Director of OM, writes about OpenPetra:

OM uses Petra software to manage the finances of our missionary workers worldwide in over 80 currencies. However, Petra is difficult to maintain; few developers know its programming language dating from 1993. To overcome this, we are converting Petra into an open source project called OpenPetra, which encouragingly has been nominated as ‘project of the month’ by SourceForge, the largest OpenSource platform which hosts more than 200,000 projects. http://sourceforge.net/blog/may-2011-potm-openpetra/ Please pray for OM’s IT staff worldwide, who are often overworked to keep our backbone running while adapting to various changes.
